PHP not running on Mac

  • I am trying to open the install.php file on my Mac (OS X 10.6.8)
    I’m getting the following message – please help!

    Error: PHP is not running

    WordPress requires that your web server is running PHP. Your server does not have PHP installed, or PHP is turned off.
