My VPS server has been spiking CPU and Memory – this started about 9/13/2024 – and I suspect around when I updated to Woocommerce 9.3.1 . I have been digging high and low looking for an issue – I suspect it is a bad plug-in or old database table but cannot pinpoint. Review logs this one comes when I am access my wp-admin for the site with woocommerce.

[Wed Sep 18 11:54:16.796875 2024] [proxy_fcgi:error] [pid 671377:tid 671377] [client 74.95.**.**:59554] AH01071: Got error ‘PHP message: Automattic\WooCommerce\Admin\Features\Navigation\Menu::add_plugin_item is deprecated since 9.3 with no alternative. Navigation classes will be removed in WooCommerce 9.4’, referer: https://*****.com/wp-admin/index.php

    Hello @fondashci,

Thanks for your reply! Just to let you know, I don’t use the WooCommerce Subscription or AutomateWoo plugins on my site. This issue only started after I updated the WooCommerce plugin. Now, whenever I click on any admin panel menu or load a page, I get this warning/error 4 times per load. Can you fix this from your end, or at least provide a proper error message explaining why it’s happening?

Hello – I do not have Woo Subscriptions turned on. I think I was able to stop the error. I turned off all plugins and one by one turned them back on. In between if did admin tasks. There where two older plugins which almost immediately trigger the error in my error log.

    Mailchimp for WooCommerce
    WooCommerce No Shipping Message

I was hoping that would solve my servers cpu and memory spiking which causes my server to appear to be down or very slow. It seemed to correct it late last night but this more I was having server issues again. Those errors have not come back.

I think those older plugins had a conflict with a WooCommerce update.

    Hi everyone.

I have this same error which also destroyed my dashboard. I solved this by disabling the plugin “WooCommerce Advance Order Status” by AppZab, that adds custom order statuses to your WooCommerce platform with email notifications for each order status.

When visiting the site of its builder, I found the domain to be for sale. I don’t think there will be any updates coming from there.

    Hi @rmcgeher,

I’m glad to hear that disabling your plugins and enabling them one by one helped solve the issue.

For the rest of the members facing a similar issue, I recommend creating a new topic so that we can address your issue(s) separately.

    Thanks for understanding!

Updating Mailchimp for WooCommerce worked for us

The solution here is to look for plugin that is using “add_plugin_item” function and update the plugin.
    grep -rnw “add_plugin_item” *

    Thanks!

Just to add, I’m having the same issue and on my site it is due to the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin.

Considering it is developed by WooCommerce, I’d expect them to be on top of this!
