PHP Fatal error – Freemius

  • Just out of the blue while I was working on the site this happened.

    2019/01/20 00:12:58 [error] 10908#0: *510304 FastCGI sent in stderr: “PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: Argument 1 passed to Freemius::get_api_user_scope_by_user() must be an instance of FS_User, boolean given, called in /var/www/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/material-design-for-contact-form-7-premium/freemius/includes/class-freemius.php on line 18588 and defined in /var/www/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/material-design-for-contact-form-7-premium/freemius/includes/class-freemius.php:18602

    Is the plugin calling out to another server that is offline or disabled?

    Hi Phillip,

    The plugin uses Freemius for licensed management. You’re probably right about it going offline briefly. Is it still giving you this error?

    I will also tag @freemius in this, who will have a better idea of why this might have happened (even if the service goes offline, you shouldn’t end up with a fatal error).

    I havn’t updated anything. Just out of the blue stopped working and that was in the logs. Removed the plugin (moved it out of the plugins dir) and everything started working again.

    I waiting about an hour and put it back in, but it was still broken.

    That was about an hour ago ish.

    Hi @phail, apologies for the inconvenience. It seems like you hit some edge-case with our storage data model. Kindly install our fixer plugin, download and send us the data dump to [support AT freemius DOT com], and then clean up the environment so you can reactivate the plugin.
