  • https://status.brightcove.com/ indicates a major brightcove outage.

    Once they have their api working again, we should probably ask them for an update to their plugin so it doesn’t take out all of wordpress editing when they have problems.

    Seeing the same thing. It completely blows up the WordPress dashboard when attempting to view any page related to viewing or editing posts, including the list of posts. Disabling the plugin clears the error.

    A bug fix is sorely needed to prevent a BrightCove API outage from completely torpedoing the dashboard if an API call fails.

    Here’s the error:
    Error: Uncaught exception ‘Error’ with message ‘Cannot use object of type WP_Error as array’ in /srv/bindings/b37ae473c79042beabfabbabde3fc121/code/wp-content/plugins/brightcove-video-connect/includes/api/class-bc-player-management-api2.php:73

    We are seeing the same thing. It crashed the backend of our site. Had to manually disable the plugin …

    Thanks, @rdmi , for the link to https://status.brightcove.com/ . That confirms the issue, and that they’re aware of it and working on it …

    We have added this issue to the backlog for the Brightcove WordPress connector.

    @bctbaldwin that’s great news, thanks!

    The issue should be resolved in this release:
