PHP Error When Updating to Latest Version

  • Hello,

    I got this PHP error when I upgraded to the latest version.

    PHP Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /wp-content/plugins/video-embed-thumbnail-generator/freemius/start.php on line 74.

    Plugin seems to be working fine, but I am not sure of long term issues regarding this PHP error.

    During the initial set up I opted out of Freemius, that is the only think I can think of.

    Do you know which version of PHP you’re running? It seems like this is a warning you can ignore, but I want to report it to the Freemius developers. Did you see the warning more than once?

    Hi @kylegilman,

    Running on PHP 7.4.16

    The error only happens once, but I am able to recreated by reverting to the previous version of the plugin and update it again in order to trigger the PHP error.

    I’ve been unable to replicate this PHP warning (which is not a PHP error and should not have any effect on functionality) but I know at least one other Freemius SDK user has encountered it https://github.com/Freemius/wordpress-sdk/issues/417
