    PHP Deprecated: Creation of dynamic property swas_wp_footnotes::$styles is deprecated in …/wp-content/plugins/footnotes-made-easy/footnotes-made-easy.php on line 40

    Hi @dartiss, I’ve read your note about your dismission of this plugin, but I’m reporting this just in case it’s quick to fix.

    It seems that everything works just fine, but I’ve had error 503 displayed for hours, and in the debug file I found this php error (which I don’t think is the cause).

    This plugin is essential to me, I use it in every article and if it were to fail it would be a huge problem. Unfortunately I haven’t found anything that can replace it.

    Which version of PHP are you using?

    That’s what I thought – I haven’t (and probably won’t) added support for PHP 8.2.

    I see. Even though I’m not too familiar with php I can still try to fix that line myself, maybe with some external help, assuming it’s the only problem. Unless you think the difference between php 8 and 7 is too big and doing this would just break the plugin further.

    It may not even be that. I test my plugins on 8.1, so it may just be the difference between that and 8.2

    Can you provide me with the full error that you’re seeing and I’ll see if the issue is anything obvious? Bear in mind, though, that this is informational and not an actual error.

    The notice is repeated several times, but it is always the same:

    PHP Deprecated: Creation of dynamic property swas_wp_footnotes::$styles is deprecated in /var/www/vhosts/bluesreviews.it/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/footnotes-made-easy/footnotes-made-easy.php on line 40

    Now that the 503 is gone, I can confirm that everything works fine, backend and frontend, without visible errors. Actually, I think that the issue has been there for some time but I saw it only yesterday because I turned on debug file while I had the 503 error.

    I thought I recognised this – it was mentioned to me last month… https://github.com/dartiss/footnotes-made-easy/issues/54

    It won’t be an issue until PHP 9.
