Hi, I just used the WP Engine PHP Compatibility Checker plugin to check if all my plugins are compatible with PHP 8.0, because when I update the PHP version to 8.0 on some of my websites I get a critical error and have to roll-back to PHP 7.4.

Please look at https:///toerusting.nu/PHP8-issue-duplicator.jpg as an example of the reported issues for PHP8.0. I was surprised to see the red crosses in the scan report, from PHP7 and up.

I’m not sure how accurate the plugin is for checking PHP compatibility, but if there’s even a possibility of any issue, could you please look into this? Just to make sure that the Duplicator plugin is not causing the website to crash when I select PHP8. And if you have a better plugin or method to check PHP compatibility, please let me know.

    Thanks!

    Hi @prodefu,

Duplicator Pro is compatible with PHP 8 and in the same time it supports older PHP versions. To support the older PHP versions, deprecated functions work conditionally depending on the running PHP version on the website.

This results in excising deprecated functions and these compatibility checkers plugins detect the deprecated functions as deprecated code.

So, this is a false warning from the compatibility plugin you use. Kindly disregard these warnings, give Duplicator a try, and let us know if you encounter any problems using it.

    I hope this helps,

    Thanks!
