php and mysql

  • hi there, I am new to this blog so please forgive me if I don’t use it properly.
    I am learning how to set up wordpress for my blog and there are few things before to start that I need to understand. is it my computer that needs to meet the minimum software requiremwent for the php and mysql or the web server I ll choose or what?

  • The place where you want to install WordPress. This will be on a webserver of some hosting company in some cases, but some folks make their own PCs into a server.

    ok, so this means the computer/HD…or the server I ll choose?

    I said: “The place where you want to install WordPress. This will be on a webserver of some hosting company” in most cases, don’t read the “but”.
    Find a host that lives up to the requirements, for example by following the link that I gave you.

    one more question….is it possible to don’t have in the domain .wordpress.com but just the name I ll choose ?

    When you have a self-hosted website, you have to register your own domain and find hosting of course.
