PHP 8 error

wordpress is using the latest version

I am trying to upgrade this site to PHP8 Unfortunately, everytime that I upgrade to PHP8 the admin section gives me the "white page" in the browser and the site itself gives me the wordpress page saying there is a critical error on the site but wordpress does not send me any email giving me any indication of the issue.

I removed all plugins from the site except woocommerce and wordfence.

If I delete wordfence and put the site on PHP8, I still have the same issue.

I am using the wordpress 2023 theme.

plugins ansd themes using the latest versions

There are no custom codes in any of the files.

This is just a basic demo site of wordpress. No problem for me to make any changes to the site that you suggest.

I changed the theme to storefront - same issue

I do not see a Fatal Error Log with PHP 7.4 or PHP 8

I cannot get a status report after I put the site on PHP8 below is the PHP7.4 status report.

    Thanks for reaching out!

    I understand that you want to upgrade the PHP version of your site to 8, however, it is causing critical error and only displays a white page afterwards, correct?

    I’ve seen several sites using PHP 8 and their site is working properly. If you could also provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

    Seen this a few times – is PHP8 properly installed on the server – there are a few extensions that need to be there for WordPress to work: https://zeropointdevelopment.com/required-php-extensions-for-wordpress-wpquickies/

    Are you using CPanel? If so, is there a ‘Select PHP Version’ option in the Software section? If so, go there and click the Extensions tab to see what’s installed

    problem solved – I manually deleted and manually installed woocommerce and site is now working with PHP 8
