    Dear Gigpress,

My webhost is ending support for PHP 7.x and requiring everyone to upgrade to 8.1 by November. They ran a check on my site and indicated that Gigpress was not compatible.

When will Gigpress be fully compatible with PHP 8.1?

    Hi @sertsamuel

Thanks for reaching out and bringing this to our attention. PHP 8.1 compatibility for GigPress is not scheduled yet as our team has been overwhelmed lately. I will try to check if there’s anything we can do about this and when.
Thanks for your patience on this!

    Hi Andras,

What can i do in the time being because I can’t put out a older php version?

    Hi @sertsamuel

At the moment we are not able to provide a solution for PHP 8+ and GigPress. If you are getting errors with those versions, then the only solution I can think of is hosting it with PHP 7.4.

I checked the latest GigPress on a local test site with PHP 8.1.9 and I haven’t run into any issues. I could create a gig and show the list on the front-end without any errors.

Did you try? Are you getting any errors?

    Hey Andras,

I tried de plugin on another server with PHP 8.1.2 and I can’t import any CSV files. I only get a critical error. And if I downgrade back to PHP 7.4 i can import the file.
Importing a file is very importent for the client.

Is there a solution for that?

    Kind regards

    Hi @sertsamuel

I obviously didn’t test the import before, so thanks for sharing the details. I took a look at it and did a quick-fix that should fix the import functionality for now.
You can download the file from here:
    https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aqh6lbOjUW1ThKFwUbUuUMZ-jo2DWA?e=GvSqbO

You need to replace this file with it:
    wp-content/plugins/gigpress/lib/parsecsv.lib.php

Just in case, please create a backup of your site before. Best would be to test it on a dev/staging site, if you can.

I will also create a pull request for the plugin, so it gets fixed in a next release.

Let me know if that fixes the issue.
If you encounter any other PHP8-related issues, please open a new thread as per .org forum policy. Also, it helps us keep track of things easier.
    Looking forward to your feedback.

    Cheers,
    Andras
