My webhost (Dreamhost) is ending support for PHP 7.x and requiring everyone to upgrade to 8.1 by November. They ran a check on my site and indicated that Gigpress was not compatible. When will Gigpress be fully compatible with PHP 8.1?

    Thank you.

    Hi @ukulelejim,

Thanks for reaching out to us. That’s a good question. We do have plans of updating the plugin and supporting PHP8, however, I am unable to provide you an exact date for when this will be available.

A workaround would be migrating to a new hosting provider that would still support PHP7.

Let me know if this helps or if you do have more questions.

    Best,

Hello @ukulelejim, worth noting that WP doesn’t support PHP8 just yet. https://theeventscalendar.com/known-issues/#php8-compatibility

Hey @ukulelejim, this thread has been inactive for a while, so we’re going to go ahead and mark it Resolved. Please feel free to open a new thread if any other questions come up, and we’d be happy to help.

GigPress: No updates for 11 months (as of 10-2022). The disrespectful answers above sound as if those who purchased GigPress some years ago, against all promises, have decided to let it die in favor of their flagship product, The Events Calendar. Indeed, the development of GigPress pretty much stopped with the purchase by The Event Calendar, years ago. Sad.
