  • Same here. Have had no response from the Black Studio about the Visual Editor TinyMCE widget (has been great plugin for many years) about an apparent conflict with PHP 8.1. The Website looked fine, but I was surprised to find I was not able to log into the WP install. Tech support helped find cause of the issue turning off the Visual Editor plugin, which then disappeared all the text and graphics. I’m on the verge of replacing all text+imagine boxes with the WP text and image widget, much inferior, so the site can be 8.1 compatible. Wondering if there’s any chance this plugin will be further updated – Hoping so as it is a fantastic WP third-party option.

Odd… I have this plugin installed on at least 8 client sites, all of which are using PHP 8.1, and have not had any issues.

Is it possible that you are both using a page builder plugin that is conflicting with this?

Just curious and want to keep on top of it in case the plugin starts to be a problem for me as well.

    Thanks!

Just to help out here. The “Visual Editor” 2.7.2 widget does work in the latest versions of PHP 8.0 + .. try using this plugin tool to look at what else might be not able to make the PHP upgrades. PHP Compatibility Checker it is easy to use and you don’t even have to shut your site down to see what plugins will have problems. I have nothing to do with the plugin made by WP-Engine. Cheers, jD

At the moment there are no known compatibility issues with PHP 8.1.

I was not able to reproduce the reported problem with the following setup:

    • WordPress Version 6.1.4 (which should be almost equal to the mentioned 6.1.1)
    • Black Studio TinyMCE Version 2.7.2
    • Page Builder by SiteOrigin Version 2.18.2

I suspect you may have a modified version of Page Builder by SiteOrigin since you named it like “ThinkUpThemes compatible”.

I’d suggest following the troubleshooting guide included in our FAQ in order to locate the source of the issue and get back here with additional info about how to reproduce the problem.
