PHP 7.4.33 > v8

    SiteGround is running PHP 7.4.33 as their standard Managed Version; however I’m getting message from MailPoet plugin that I should upgrade to 8.1

    I have tried manual upgrade to 8.1.27, 8.2.15, and 8.0.30. Each of them crashed the website. Following each crash, I restored 7.4.33 and it worked.

    The error I am getting from the crashed website under all three v8’s is:

    Parse error: Unterminated comment starting line 62 in /home/customer/www/taastrategies.com/public_html/wp-content/themes/generatepress_child/functions.php on line 62

    Hi there,

    PHP 7.4 should be fine. There shouldn’t be any issues with that version.
