Jacob please feel free to login to our site should you want to check something out regarding the Archives now running WordPress 4.4 and PHP 7

I am running php 7 on all my sites now, and wp 4.4, and even wp 4.5-alpha-35875 on my beta test site. However, if you notice anything strange, pls tell me.

Our site does seem to be faster. I have not noticed anything wrong so far.

However, I am not running all of the widgets.

I uploaded a new photo album today. The upload from the back-end went well. However, after the upload I had to rotate some of the photos that were laying on their side.

When I double-click on the thumbnail and play the slideshow, some of the photos are not oriented properly. It looks like some of the portrait photos are oriented in a landscape fashion. Photo 6/34 is the first photo to be laying on its side.

Album #550 (yes we have over 500 photo albums now!).

    Thank you very much!

Strange… The file in the source dir seems to be ok, the thumbnail is ok, the ‘normal’ display file is ok, but has the watermark vertical on the right hand side.

    Try this:

FTP the source file https://tibesar.com/wp-content/uploads/wppa-source/album-550/20151126-Uncle-Glen-Tibesar-and-little-Mattie-Rae-Tibesar-on-Thanksgiving-in-Phoenix-Arizona.jpg down to your pc. Make sure its oriented correctly, if not rotate it with any photo editing program, ftp it up to your depot and import it with the Update existing photos box ticked.

If this does not fix it, pls mail me the photo.

BTW: Do you like the facelift of lightbox? The next version will have a significant performance improvement, and a fix for the mal-functioning keyboard handler ( all keystrokes are processed twice at the moment ).

I love it Jacob! The best thing is the directional arrows disappear and then reappear when wanting them. Same with the play slideshow arrow that magically disappears after a brief delay.

These navigational aides are not confusing and are classy and professional.

Hello Jacob. The download and import did not work. I have sent you an e-mail with this photo as requested.

By the way the problem exists for several portrait-oriented photos in album no 550; not just one photo.

The responsiveness of 4.4 images is only that wp now supports the <picture > tag.

The photo you sent me looks right in the email: https://wppa.opajaap.nl/screenshots-2/wppaspec/oc1/cv0/ab99/ptMarcus-1.JPG and wrong in the windows Photo viewer: https://wppa.opajaap.nl/screenshots-2/wppaspec/oc1/cv0/ab99/ptMarcus-2.JPG ….(?????)

If i rotate it before uploading, it behaves correctly: https://wppa.opajaap.nl/members/wppaspec/oc1/lnen/cv0/ab120/ptMarcus-3-rotated-before-upload.jpg

There are eleven photos with the portrait rotated to the left problem:

    6/34
    8/34
    11/34
    12/34
    16/34
    17/34
    21/34
    25/34
    26/34
    27/34
    28/34

In every case the Source file and the Display file sizes are opposite one another. Here is an example:

    Source file: 1280 x 960 px. 539.33 Kb
    Display file: 960 x 1280 px. 124.21 Kb

These photos were taken with a Samsung tablet running Android.

Perhaps the Samsung camera is the problem. I’ll know once I upload a new photo album with someone else’s photos.

If you UNtick Table IV-G6, the display files will be used for lightbox. This should work; you do not downsize, or, at least to a size big enough.

    Hi Jacob

That resolved the problem Jacob! Donation on its way.

What do you mean by <<<<you do not downsize, or, at least to a size big enough>>>> please?

Thank you Jacob and Merry Christmas!

You need large enough photos for lightbox, well your ‘display’ files are large enough. ( You either did NOT tick Table I-A2, or you set Table I-A3 to a large enough value ).

    Donation on its way.

Thanx again and Merry Christmas too!

    I see.

    Thank you for the tip!

I’ve made the following new adjustments:

1-A2 ticked (it already was ticked)
    1-A3 1920 x 1080 (previously set to Fit…)
    1-B1 1920 (previously set to 1600)
    1-B2 1080 (previously set to 1600

On big monitors I like the results!
