PHP 7.1 compatibility

    Hello,

    Like many others on here, I love your plugin.
    However, when trying to upgrade PHP I get the following error and cannot upgrade:
    The following plugins/themes are not compatible with PHP 7.1. The GDPR Framework
    58 | WARNING | Function mcrypt_create_iv() is deprecated since PHP 7.1; use OpenSSL instead
    58 | WARNING | Extension ‘mcrypt’ is deprecated since PHP 7.1 – use openssl (preferred) or pecl/mcrypt once available instead.

    There may be a simple fix but I will be honest and have no idea so hoping you can advise.

  • Hi there!

    This is coming from a compatibility library that provides newer PHP functionality for older PHP versions. We are trying to support at least PHP 5.6 since many in the WP community have not upgraded their hosting for a loooong time.

    These notices are annoying, but completely harmless. Where or when are you seeing them?
