PHP 7.0 compatibility warning

  • Hi, when I use the compatibility checker on Siteground, it shows this error for WP Statistics:

    FILE: /wp-content/plugins/wp-statistics/includes/vendor/symfony/debug/ErrorHandler.php
    FOUND 1 ERROR AFFECTING 1 LINE
    143 | ERROR | Using a call-time pass-by-reference is deprecated since PHP 5.3 and prohibited since PHP 5.4

    Is this actually an issue? I’d like to upgrade to PHP 7.0.

    For reference, this checker is for upgrading to 7.0 and is currently on 5.6. Thanks.
