• I have written a plugin for uploading and embeding images easily in posts. Photos are zipped up, upload, thumbnails and links are placed in the posts easily.

    Go to my plugin page

This is an example, (and walkthru)
    https://www.lab4games.net/zz85/blog/2005/06/30/testing-my-photozip-plugin/

Out of frustration for an easy and quick way to insert and display pictures in posts (without crudely hacking Exhibit or PhotoPress plugin).
Out of some influence by userfriendness/competition shown in PhotoMail(yahoo), MSN Spaces(microsoft), Hello to Blogger(google) on how you could share ur photos easily.
Out of some inspiration by some gallery plugins – Exhibit, PhotoPress.

This plugin is not created for setting up a gallery. It comes from my need for inserting photos into my post quickly and simply in the least amount of steps.

In short, PhotoZip is a quick and dirty method for uploading images into my post.

    Love to hear comments.

  • After having moved my blog to WP from MT, I still miss one feature from my ‘old’ blogsystem, every day. When placing the thumb in the post it always had a link to a popupscreen with the larger image. I really miss that. In the case of MT they did this by inserting code which calles a html-page, but the same effect can be achieved with some javascript to add the appropriate width and height of the window to be opened to the link, or by using some javascript that resizes the popup when the image is complete.

Any chance to add this (as an option) to this plugin?

I’ve set the permissions for this folder to 777, but it seems like I have to upload a zip file. It won’t allow me to select a folder on my hard drive. I can select one image, but when I try to upload I get this single message every time: “No photo directory. Make sure your script have permissions.”

How about adding the possibility to simply select several photos from one’s hard drive or a folder of pictures. Also, I’m kind of unclear on where these photos would end up anyways. In dealing with several other plugins using photos, I could have photos all over my server- not in any one place.
