• I was wondering how I could use my own custom photoshop template and create a blog from the ground up. Are their any instructions on skinning the site? Please hook me up with any useful links. Thanks.

Thanks Podz. I’ll google it, and see if I can find any. If not, I’ll come back to harass you again. ??

i’ve always used ps to skin my site(s) and now that i use wp it hasn’t become an exception.. it’s not that hard, really.. you simply need to work on index.php and wp-layout.css after you slice ur iface in ps! ??

yeah your site is nice. ARe you using Div Tags? Where do you add the loop etc? Im not sure how to edit the Index.php Page. Being unfamiliar with HTML and PHP mixed up, makes it all code and no sense to me!!!

You may want to take a look at Kubrick ( https://binarybonsai.com/kubrick/ ). It’s customizable via a Photoshop template, so you may get some ideas by looking at how it’s created.

if you’re not familiar with html and/or php i suggest taking a quick read thru some online tutorial sites before doing anything with your template.. photoshopping is a whole different subject.. you can start at https://designsbymark.com ??

I used to photoshop all my sites. Im a designer by trade. But mixing php with HTML gets to me. I know how to use includes etc… slicing templates etc….. Im pretty good at that. But Im not sure how to implement to coding into the photoshop template after im done with the slicing etc.

I would ignore the php – it’s the css you need to look at if you are integrating images into WP.

So would I use the default template, then hack into the CSS and try to put the images together that way? I think I should study up more on CSS then. Would you suggest creating a entire webpage and using it as a background image, or slicing up needed pieces and adding it to fit the site?
What I normally do, it slice the PSDs, then where there is text, includes, or whatever, I change that image into the background of the table. I hope im making sense here. I only am familar with CSS as far as for text, those “TRENDY” scroll bars, and actually thats about it LOL. Any other tips?

tables?? yuck!!! anyway.. i second podz on this.. use css for integrating your sliced images into the html.. simply create or modify the existing divs, ids and classes.. i doodled with almost every element of wp in index.php and wp-layout.css you can do the same if you want full control of the layout.. you’re free to hack into my css it’s at https://jermexpress.com/reinvented.css have fun! ??
