Photos previously optimized with different plugin?

    I’m not clear on what happens if I had a different plugin installed to optimize my images? Will they be re-optimized and if so I’m guessing that would/could degrade the quality?

    No, Smush won’t over optimize images that are already optimized. Do you have any before-after examples?

    Thank you for your reply.

    I guess I just didn’t know if each optimizing plugin creates a “folder” where their version of an optimized image is stored while keeping the originally uploaded file untouched.

    Hello westlightimages,

    Our plugin doesn’t create a folder with optimized images. Images that are Smushed are replacing images in your Media Library.
    Smush stats are kept in the database.
