    Hey,
On checking the front end of my website and shop page I have noticed that sometimes the pics appear clumped together as one, prices/add to baskets buttons askew or missing… I refresh the page and then one might be out of place, refresh again and maybe pics in a different place. Usually by third or fourth refresh of the screen all is fine and appearing as it should again. It happens on my laptop and also on my mobile too.
Please could anyone let me know what it is and how to sort out? ??
    Thank you very much.
    Elby
p.s I promised my last question would be the final but I think I have to retract that statement as I reckon its an ongoing learning curve and project for me! (sorry)

Oh or one or two appear slightly out of line – some pics slightly different size so expected there but most same size so a bit odd!

    Hi there!

I took a look at your site’s product page and was unable to see the issue you described.
Are you still having trouble with this?

    Hey,
Thanks for taking a look. It doesn’t seem to happen every time but was pretty consistent over a few days. It didn’t clump yesterday afternoon or this morning as I am adding products so maybe it was just a temporary glitch. I’ll post back and let you know if it happens again.

Hey! Yes – just happened again. I put two new products on and one is an inch below the rest of the row…
One refresh this time and it seems to have righted.

    Hi Elby,

I took another look and was able to see what you’re talking about. As soon as I resized the browser window, the shop appeared correctly. I think this may be a theme issue, so let’s test that first.

First, you’ll want to change the theme on your site to Storefront, then test. If that resolves the issue, you’ll want to get in touch with your theme’s developer and see if they have an update or fix for you. If changing the theme doesn’t help, you’ll want to deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and take a look. If that fixes the problem, re-enable the other plugins one by one to see where the issue is coming from. If you don’t want to test on your live site, then create a staging site using a plugin called WP Staging.

    Best,
    Ross

    Hi Ross,
Thanks so much for the reply. I will try that today and let you know how it goes.

    Hi Laura

Should this work with another theme, I am sure you can contact your existing theme author for assistance. Here is their contact page:

Great – thank you… I didn’t manage to change the theme to check as I realised I needed to back up my website (novice here!) and then when I tried to install the WP staging site that also had a bit of an issue so another go today with a new link! And hopefully problem sorted soon – I have noticed it seems to be okay on my browser on my laptop now but is ongoing on my mobile phone and refreshing the screen doesn’t work here.

    Will update later on.
Thanks so much for the support!

    Hey again,
I can’t get the staging site to work (lots of error files) but I have downloaded a plug in and backed up my website with updraft (I think/hope/fingers crossed)…
If I just go ahead and change the theme to storefront check all and then change back to virtue will that just work and everything will go back into place as it was? Including all the other bits – blog /portfolio etc..
I have spent so long making my website – and I really am a technophobe normally I am slightly terrified of losing all or it being all mangled up if I change and change back again but I just want to get it sorted!!
    Thank you

    Hi @elbybrown

You can also contact your host to duplicate the site to a staging environment for testing.

    Hope that helps.

This is because you’re using Masonry or Isotope. Both are the same thing really. You need to tell it in the script where to start at. I don’t have time to show you but in your theme or the Masonry code it needs to be established how to show.

If I’m not mistaken, isn’t everyone getting away from using Masonry now?

    Thread Starter elbybrown

    (@elbybrown)

Thanks @johndcoy, I contacted my host and they said I had to create a sub domain and the install wordpress into it and then assign something a rather and thats its like starting from scratch – I am not a web developer so I think it sounds a bit overly complicated for me… so I am instead hopefully going to get something called a FTP credentials to try WP staging plug in again…
    @stefsternyc hey,
I have just looked up masonry/isotope as I didn’t really have a clue what that means – I am just using Kadence Virtue themes. And I don’t know any more than that! I hope though that I am not already out of date – I have only just got up and running. (eek)

Though if I have a back up and change the theme to check on my live site and then switch back is that so bad???

    Thread Starter elbybrown

    (@elbybrown)

    Okay so…
I did a back up and decided I just needed to get it done. So changed to storefront on my live site. Looked on my mobile and pics all fine. Laptop – pics all good.
Changed back to Virtue – took a look at pictures in store and clumping gone crazy – everything merged into another. So very glad I did a back up at least so could restore to original not so bad clumping.

So I guess that means it is the theme so will contact them and update here soon as. (I really hope it is a simple solution!)
    Thanks for comments.

Hey @elbybrown sorry sometimes I talk like a scientist who hasn’t had his coffee. Masonry is the grid setup you are using. Sometimes devs mess with CSS or something is throwing the CSS off in Masonry. We typically set or change the grid by editing the JS file for Masonry. Since you’re not a dev I refer to the honorable @johndcoy and contact the theme developer who may or may not assist you. Depending on where you purchased it.

Have a look at the code for Masonry. It’s exciting.

@stefsternyc Wow, that is exciting…. Heeeee.
Hey that’s okay. Def appreciate the input even if I don’t know what it means (yet or maybe ever).
I just have the free version but I am over at Virtue wordpress support now and checking in with them so fingers crossed soon I can go back to my shed and make stuff and listen to Reply All…
Thanks again and I’ll update as and when resolved.
