• I’ve had this installed on my blog for a few days, works like a charm. But then a few days ago my host decided to switch from plesk to cPanel. Ever since, Photopress refuses to resize my images, calimign an “invalid format” – while they’re all jpgs! I’ve tried deactivating and reactivating, uninstalling and reinstalling a freshly downloaded copy, yet still not luck.

All the GD libraries are installed, so i have no idea why this isn’t working… any help would be appreciated. The error I’m getting is:

Filetype not supported. Image not resized.Filetype not supported. Image not resized.
Warning: getimagesize(/home/abenweek/public_html/blog/wp-content/photos/thumb_Kindred_SDC2003_100_Jaime_Wright__Small_.jpg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/abenweek/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/photopress/upload.php on line 299

Thanks for any suggestions or fixes….

  • This error doesn’t sound like it has anythig to do with the file format but with the fact that the image doesn’t actually exist. I work at a web hosting company and we have this problem with our customers quite often using the gallery software. Gallery doesn’t actually fail on uploading the image when it can’t upload the image, it fails on trying to process the image when it doesn’t exist. You will want to make sure that the web server has write permissions on %WP_ROOT%/wp-content/photos/ directory.

The image itself uploads fine, it’s just that Photopress for some reason can’t resize it. The “File not found” error has to do with teh thumbnail; which hasn’t been created.

I double checked my photos folder, and it is chmodded to 777.

Thanks for your reply though ??

Ok, problem fixed. Turns out ther was an error with gd, despite having been installed and everything. Host was able to fix things up ??
