• Hi all,

    https://www.standring.eu

I’m an English guy living in the French Alps and I’ve put together a new photography blog and portfolio site for my photography. It’s using WordPress 2.9 with a Pacifica theme from Themeforest and the WPML Multilingual CMS plugin which allows me to create content in French and English.

WordPress is simple to use and it’s easy to update the site. I like the theme as I feel it has a great visual impact. I’m living in France so the site needs to be French first and English second. The WPML plugin allows me to do that.

    Cheers, Russell

  • I have got mixed feelings over your site. It is good looking and more importantly it loads pretty fast. This is very important when it comes to a photo site. The thing that worries me is the fact that the theme uses frames, I am not sure if that old technology is the way to go.

l like your site and looks good but needs better arrangment for photos l think but looks nice. you can try to hide pictures with read more and would look better l think

    Hey RusellS,

I was just amazed by the exquisite photographs at your site! You’re a real pro!

I too have a photography website called ‘fotolusion’ at https://www.fotolusion.com/ . But I am not a pro like you, just a hobby enthusiast. Anyways, feel free to have a look and please spread the word.

Big thank you for the feedback all.

Thanks, Arnold. I’m not really a technical person so chose the theme for it’s visual impact and didn’t even look at the technology behind. At least it’s working with the latest version of WordPress and plugins.

Photography is my hobby so do I have to go to work to pay the bills. I’ll be sitting down to look at the photos I have on there and to select ones that work better, so I appreciate the feedback on the photo arrangement.

Sravan953, thank you for the kind words on the photos. I take lots, and every so often, some shots work.

    Cheers, Russell
