Photo .. margin to margin

Hi,

I am using a child theme on twenty eleven .. I was wondering if it is possible (using a plugin or coding) in the Twenty Eleven theme to insert a photo into the content area that is large enough (1000px) so it will touch both the left and right edges of the page and ignores the margins and padding. I guess much like it does in the header and in this site….

Perhaps in this case it really isn’t in the content area. I dunno.
