• can anyone suggest a simple photo gallery plugin that my client can use to upload his own photos?
it needs to have an image upload button (no ftp’ing) and display a gallery of images that are auto-resized and thumbnailed. if the images pop up in a new window that would be a brilliant bonus.
i can’t seem to find one anywhere that suits my needs. they all require separate image editor resizing or separate ftp uploading. i must’ve tried hundreds, but no simple gallery plugin can i find.
    thanks all.

  • Try eSPG (Enhanced Simple Photo Gallery) at https://quirm.net/category.php?id=14

It has all the features you mention except images don’t pop up (ut I think the navigation works nicely).

It is not a WP plugin; it is a stand-along photo gallery, but it can be integrated into WP with some effort.

i’m really looking for something with as little effort as possible as i have problems even getting the basics down

Mhm, take a lok at this gallery plugin for WordPress: https://www.wildbits.de/mygallery/

    Short instruction in english: https://www.wildbits.de/2006/02/01/mygallery-in-a-nutshell/

I′m very glad using PhotoPress, as you can check on my website: https://www.maismoda.com.br (unfortunatelly, just in Portuguese, but you can go to my galleries, clicking on “Desfiles” or in the random image on the sidebar). ??

he states here in the instructions:
“Go to the gallery management and choose your gallery”
i have uploaded, created the folder, made it read & writable but the ‘gallery management’ tab, where it says ‘select a gallery’ it is blank
any ideas? this looks like the best one so far if i can only get it to work.

Hi Zentaochi! If you are talking about Photopress, the instalation creates two tabs: one under “MANAGE” and another one under “Options”. Don′t you have these tabs?
I can manage with no problem at all here using the “PHOTOPRESS” tab under MANAGE.

    hey tboley,

i like your site alot. simple and chic. however, do you think you could elaborate on your installation instructions?
for example i know what a static page is if i write a html page, but what do you mean in your case? really appreciate some kind of elaboration. thanks.

@marchern: I′m working on the english manual for myGallery. At this time, there is only a german manual. In WordpRess you can writ a post (=new blog entry) and a page (=static page). To install myGallery, put the myGallery folder into the plugins folder of WordPress and create a gallery folder ‘myfotos/ under the directory ‘wp-content’. Chmod the directory to ‘777’. That should be enough to run the gallery. Important: myGallery doesn′t work with PHP safe mode.

please won’t someone post a step-by-step on this? i’ve dragged half my hair out trying to get a simple gallery to work.
    would’ve been easy you’d think.
    thanks

is there a way to improve the quality on the pictures when using the myGallery 1.0.3 ?

    Hy all,

How do I create a link for other galleries.
    https://www.sverschuren.com/?page_id=3
I only see my first (pix1) and not other galleries.

    Thanks in advance!
