We have checked our page for cookies we don’t know about and learned that photo gallery does indeed set a cookie: PHPSESSID 0be5e7609b88b53e1b1c73…
What exactly is the funktion of this cookie and can it be turned off?
We are a school and have no funding for a professional solution (although I as a private person do donate when possible and regularly create Creative Commons content). Also, I, the administrator of the site, am “only” a language teacher – so DSGVO is quite a challenge for us.
Thank you for your help and advice.

    Hi,

Photo Gallery creates a unique session for your device, allowing some functions like captcha verification and sorting of images to work. The ID of the session is stored in PHPSESSID cookie. No personal or device information is collected or stored. This cookie is temporary and expires once the visitor leaves the site.

Thank you! Have a nice day!
