• Hello, I’m facing the exact same issue since few hours : “A file with that name already exists in the containing folder!”.

I erased completely the concerned files and tried to re-import it again / deactivate / reactivate / de-installed / re-installed the plugin, nothing work, I can’t rename the files…

I’m using the latest version of wordpress (does it comes from this ?) + Astra pro + Elementor pro. Also using File Bird, could the problem come from this ? Even going on FTP I don’t find the “same existing file contained in the folder”, it drives me crazy…

Any idea of what is happening ?

    Thanks in advance for help

    Hi @tdda,
Phoenix Media Rename has been tested with WordPress 6, I don’t think this can be the source of the issue.

I support Astra and Elementor, but only for the free version because they don’t support developers by providing a developer licence, but everything is working with free version, so it is unlikely that the pro version could have issue.

I never tried Fire Bird, it is possible that it causes a conflict with Phoenix Media Rename because it works in the media library, I’ll install it on my development server and I’ll try to replicate your issue.

I’ll let you know as soon as possibile.

    Thank you for reporting

    Hello,

Ok thanks, thanks of the quick answer ! To explain a bit more the purpose : on this website I do batch imports (more than 2000 images), csv file for ±200 posts + using all import pro to auto-attach this images to define posts so the name of the files have to be very specific (post ID + number incrementing for each posts).

By the way, when I first tried to apply Phoenix Media Renamer to some batch test of images (with original parameters) it renamed my files named, for exemple, 04-01 to 04-1 (so it breaks the root for all import to link the file to the post). In my opinion, I would avoid this part of the auto-renaming process ??

To give full feedback, now I don’t know why but with the specific first batch of images I tried to work on to rename with your pluging, when I erase this images and re-import it again, wordpress persist to rename this same images with like this 04-01-1.jpg… don’t understand why because this files don’t exist anymore on the website… Any idea how to solve this ?

Thank again for your plugin !

    Hi @tdda,
if WordPress persists to rename the images like this 04-01-1.jpg when you upload them, it means that there is some problem not related to Phoenix Media Rename, because it doesn’t work on upload but only on files already present in media library.

It seems that something is showing to WordPress old file as still present, but I have no idea on which could be the cause.

I checked FileBird lite on my development server and everything worked, are you using the pro or the free version?
