Have 2 almost identical configurations: dev.domain.com (stage) and www.domain.com (live). The former seems to work fine, but in the latter few days ago noticed the cache.sqlite3 and its related files aren’t being created, neither the /cache nor /phast.<GUID>folders, so essentially PP is active but not working. There are no entries in debug.log but the Apache error log shows many entries pointing to some kind of an issue with my PP configuration which I haven’t been able to figure out yet. Could you please have a look and hint what that issue might be and how to fix it?

Here’s the link to the Apache log.

(BTW, do you have some debug mode in PP one could activate to get a more full picture how’s PP behaving in one’s environment and perhaps to get an earlier warning of issues like this? I usually rely in debug.log but obviously isn’t enough.)

Thank you very much in advance.

Nevermind, found the phast.<GUID> and db files got created in the wp-content/uploads folder instead. But why such discrepancy with the other almost mirrored dev site? How to get it back to the wp-content/cache?

    Hi @alx359,

The directory gets created wherever PhastPress is able to. If it already exists, it’s not moved.

Most likely PhastPress was unable to create the directory in wp-content/cache, and therefore used wp-content/uploads. If wp-content/cache exists and has appropriate permissions, the directory should get created there automatically if you remove it from wp-content/uploads.

An indication in the settings of where the directory is stored would be helpful, but at the moment I don’t intend to spend time on this.

You’re right. Deleted it from uploads and the cache/* directories and data got recreated instantly. It’s strange what kind of issue might have arisen to get into uploads instead at the time. Anyway, the important thing is that it’s working. Thanks.
