• I’m not sure why, but this plugin makes it so progressive web apps often don’t show the “Install” icon when you tap Add to home screen (Android Chrome).

Same problem for both PWA for WP and Super Progressive Web Apps plugins.

Can you please fix this bug?

    Thanks,
    Kyle

    Hi @kw11,

I’ve tested with PWA for WP & AMP, PhastPress and mobile Chrome and it seems to work well.

Do you mean that the app icon is not shown, or the whole “Add to home screen” banner doesn’t show up?

Could you share a screenshot demonstrating the problem, and if possible, a link to a page where you are experiencing it?

The banner shows up. But the install button often doesn’t when clicking on the add to home screen banner.

If I turn off Phastpress, this functionality consistently works. Different PWA plugins have this same problem and the problem is always resolved by disabling PhastPress.

If it makes any difference, I am using Varnish caching. But I make sure to clear cache of course.

    Hi @kw11,

So what happens when you tap the banner? Nothing at all?

Would you be able to record an interaction like this on your phone and share the video?
