• After building the website with the Bluehost provided YITH theme Wonder, I noticed that there was a phantom footer showing up when I viewed the site from my mobile phone. It had heading such as “Our Company”, “Our Products”, “Special Sales”, and “Customer Service”, each with one of my navigation menus listed below it. There is a fifth Heading “Stay Connected” with the following text below it “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Etiam sagittis tincidunt tortor in bibendum. Phasellus tellus elit, placerat et orci id, commodo finibus tortor.”. Following this there is a row of 7 social media icons. The footer is then ended with “Wonder – A WordPress Block theme by YITH”.

When I select “edit page” and I am in the full site editor, I do not see this footer. I also do not see the custom footer that I created. But when I do “edit site” and look at the template part “No-Title”, which is what the page is using, it shows the “Content Block” followed by the “footer” block (which shows my custom footer) Thus, when I go back and click “view page”, it shows all my content with my footer at the bottom. It does not show the phantom footer.

However, when I log out of my site and then look at my website the phantom footer does show up. Also in a a different browser, a different computer, and on my mobile phone, they all show the unwanted footer.

If i inspect the HTML through the browser it shows the unwanted footer from line 954 through 1050. How does it get there? How do I get rid of it?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hello there and thanks for using Wonder.

I can see the standard footer still used in your page template.

If you are using the No-Title page template you have to go in the Site Editor and Replace the default footer with the one you created.

You pointed that when you are using the Site Editor the footer is correct and not the default one. Can you please try to record a small video about this? You can use a browser extension named Loom to do this and paste in the next reply the link to the recording. This way I can provide you the best assistance as possible.

    Thanks

Francesco Grasso thank you for your help.

You showed a link to an image of my Home page which showed “my” custom footer at the very bottom, and then the unexplained “Phantom” footer above that. That Phantom footer is what I want to get rid of. I can find no place in the Wonder template that shows that template part or how to edit it. It seems invisible to me in the template editor.

I will try to make a video showing what I mean. But in the meantime if you can direct me to how to delete or edit that Phantom footer I would appreciate it.

    Thanks again,

Hi all, I’m talking with BH to check further the issue, which should not be theme-related. I will update you in the coming days with, I hope, good news

    Hello there,
yes,I confirm the issue was fixed with an update of the platform.

Thanks to all of you for the patience and the help in finding and solving this issue.

@gust2017 the issue should be fixed now. Double check that in wp-admin > dashboard > updates that there’s no updates available got your hosting account plugin, because the latest version fixes this issue. If you have auto update turned on, then you may already be on the latest version by now.
