  • Hmm. I have the exact same permalink structure on a test site, and it works perfectly with paged links. All I can suggest it to try clearing out the WP rewrite rules in your .htaccess as you now have them, and regenerate them under Options > Permalinks. It’s possible something got missed the first time through.

    hmm, i have just removed the category tag from the permlinks. Not it works, but I would love to have the category in the url.

    How can I tell if I am running apache 1 or 2? Apparently category doesn’t work with apache 1. Is this the thing that doesn’t work?

    %category% is an iffy one (for a few unavoidable purposes). There’s a few recent threads that discuss it; here’s one, with some potential workarounds:
