Permissions Problems

  • Hi

    I’ve been having various problems with plugins and the flash image uploader that appear to be with permissions- I’m presuming they’re all related?

    Is there any way I can sort this out? I’m reluctant to use 777 because of the security issues…

    Here are some examples of my error messages:

    WP Super Cache Manager

    advanced-cache.php does not exist
    Create it by executing:
    ln -s /nfs1/bransonbond.com/www/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/wp-cache-phase1.php /nfs1/bransonbond.com/www/wp-content/advanced-cache.php
    in your server
    Or by copying /nfs1/bransonbond.com/www/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/wp-cache-phase1.php to /nfs1/bransonbond.com/www/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.

    Cannot continue… fix previous problems and retry.

    The Flash Photo Uploader:

    Unable to create directory /nfs1/bransonbond.com/www/wp-content/uploads/2008/10. Is its parent directory writable by the server?
