As a logged-out visitor, I have successfully hidden a post category, which is great. There is a tiny test blog post in a category that isn’t visible to logged-out users. BUT. . .

I am having difficulty blocking the subscriber role from assigning categories to blog posts inside my private community.

I am using Buddypress, and a bp plugin called buddyblog, that lets buddypress members (who are given the subscriber role at registration), to create their own blog posts. I want to keep those blog posts inside the community. I thought your permissions plugin would work for that, but in order for it to work, buddypress members should not be allowed to choose any categories I have blocked from the subscriber role.

That doesn’t seem to be happening. A friend is helping me test, and whether I set “Assign to post” as blocked to all logged-in users, or add “subscribers” to the blocked list in the category’s edit screen, categories visible to the outside world are still showing up in the logged-in user’s front-end blogging area. They aren’t even throwing an error, they are fully accessible to the subscriber role inside my buddypress community.

I went back to check the permissions I assigned in the permissions/editing area, and the subscriber role there is blocked from adding outside categories to their blog posts.

    What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: Just realized where your site’s forum link led me. I’m not sure I am asking this in the right forum. Here is what I’m using of yours:

    Version
    PublishPress Permissions Version: 3.11.1
