I was using version 1.9.1 along with the WordPress Access Control (version 4.0.13) plugin. When I get my Login screen (when I’m not logged in), it doesn’t have my customizations on it but I do see the customizations when I get to the login screen when I am logged in. I currently have the WordPress Access Control “Make Website Members Only” option set to “Make Blog Members Only”. When I unset this option, I see my login icon. I switched to version 2.4.2 and have the same effect.

I suspect this option is preventing me from accessing the A5 style file “login_css&ver=1.0beta20141205”.

Alsom, with this “Make Blog Members Only” option being unset in Wodpress Access Control, I’m unable to save A5 settings. When I click on “Save”, and I get a new page with the words:

Are you sure you want to do this?

    Please try again.

And it doesn’t save my settings. I get this message even if I don’t make any settings changes in A5.

I really don’t want any non-member to access my website.

Can somebody explain to me what is going on?

    Thanks

Hello and sorry that it doesn’t work for you as it should.

I have two answers/questions for you right now and one for next year.

1st: Did you try wheter it works displaying the styles inline (so that you don’t have to bother with the redirected css)?

2nd: It’s Newyears Eve and quite late here already. I will now just eat and then go to work. Sorry for not trying to help you right away. ??

CU next year and have a very good one.

Thank you for the quick reply…

I’m unable to try in-line styles since I’m unable to save any A5 settings changes (see the message above). I even get this message when I disable the WordPress Access Control Plugin.

    Enjoy the New Year.

Typical case of first writing and then thinking. ?? Sorry for that. I am testing the plugin in combination with the WordPress Access Control Plugin.

The WordPress Access Control Plugin is definitely preventing the virtual css of the custom login page. So, that problem could in deed be solved by writing styles inline.

And in my testing environment I can save the settings. I couldn’t reproduce a situation yet, where my plugin wouldn’t save the settings even if the Access Control is set to Members only…

    I’ll keep you informed.

I agree with your assessment. I have several plugins installed but I couldn’t figure out what would prevent me saving my settings.

I reverted this plugin back to 1.9.1 and things seem to work again. I’m able to save my settings again and I’m able to see my custom login screen again. I also disabled the “Make Website Members Only” setting.

I tried to narrow down the settings save problem but I couldn’t. I don’t think my other plugins are causing this. I’m using version 3.6.1 of WordPress.

I don’t know if it matters any but at one point I accidently had a couple version of this plugin active at once (by accident). I eventually cleaned it up and as I said, I reverted back to the older version and it works. Moving back to 2.4.2 still didn’t.

It might be in deed that the newest version of my plugin is simply not compatible with older versions of WordPress anymore.

Since some time, it makes use of the uploader (which changed in version 3.9, I think).

Another question: Do you have an error log? Sometimes one can see things there, that are not obvious in the front- or backend.

Somebody also had problems in a multisite environment. But I guess, you run a single install.
