Permission Error Can Not Update

    Hello we are using Ultimate Member 1.3.78 for our free members area and can not update.

    The error is: Update Failed: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions”.

    Can someone please explain ow to fix this issue, or what the permission should be?

    The plugin was working fine until a recent wordpress update.

    Hi,

    It looks like a server-side issue. Can you please contact your hosting provider to reset the directory permissions?

    Thank you but if that is the issue. What are the permission settings? Resetting them? Then do we not need to know the correct settings? ?? is it possible to manually update without losing all our user data and/or set-up?

    Champ, please help us. We still can not update to your newest version as we are still having permission error when updating.

    Can we reinstall without losing current members data and members?

    I’m thinking a reinstall is the only solution as Network Solutions claims it is a plugin issue NOT their server dB.

    Have reset all permission at hosting provide NS, opened ticket and had them check again. UM will NOT update and shows a permission error…

    Please help us. Can you answer the re-installation question if yo can help us fix this? WP and all plugins are current and working with no conflicts.
