I thought I dealt with this years ago, but it seems like currently if you have access to view the attachment you can delete the video. I think the existing custom capability “Can view & modify other users encode queue” should include the permission to delete encoded videos. I’ll make an update soon to include that restriction.

It should be working in the beta version on GitHub. If it’s not doing what you want, let me know exactly how it’s not working.

You′re right, I didn′t know, that can encode videos are combined with a general right to delete all encoded videos, I think that′s the problem – even at uploads from others.

Perhaps you can define, that the capability “can encode video” is only granted for all uploads from the same user except admin? Then all users can encode and delete only their uploaded videos.

The way it’s supposed to work in the beta version (and definitely does not in the current release) is that “Can view & modify other users encode queue” is the capability that allows a user to delete another user’s encoded video. That’s what I said in my post from a month ago. I just tested it out again and it worked as expected. I’ll update the name of the capability to make it more clear.

Yes, you′re right, but I still can encode others videos of items, which are not encoded automatically of others.

For example: Another user has uploaded a video, which was encoded automatically for different qualities. One quality was not encoded automatically. Now I can encode this one not encoded quality of another user, while I′ve no right to edit others attachments and only administrator can view & modify other users encode queue. Also I can select subtitle tracks and modify thumbnails.

    I think there′s still a little bug.

Ok, I’ll take a look at permissions again soon.
