GDPR: Permission before capturing

    In my perception and that of many, you cannot capture the email address for sending any abandoned cart emails, without explicit approval of the customer. They provide an email address to be contacted about a placed order. Abanndoned carts are in my opninion part of marketing emails. They need to be able to deny this, without breaking their shopping experience. I therefor opt for a checkbox under email field, asking permissions to contact them in case they do not succeed placing an order.

    addendum: we would need auto cleanup tools as well… cleanup data older than x days for instance.

    Hi,

    Regarding your GDPR queries,

    Currently, it is not possible in our plugin to add checkbox under Email Address field on the checkout page and abandoned carts can be captured when the user give approval.

    Our plugin simply gives the ability to admin to add any kind of text or page link (to their Privacy Policy). It will be up to the admin to make sure that their Privacy Policy explicitly states how the data is used and also what data the plugin captures.

    No, it is not possible in the Abandoned Cart Lite to automatically delete the abandoned carts after a number of days.

    I would like to let you know that we are providing the same feature in our Abandoned Cart PRO plugin. We do have the setting named as “Automatically Delete Abandoned Orders after X days” for automatically delete the records of the abandoned cart from Abandoned Orders tab after the days which you will set in the setting.?
