    I recently changed my permalink setting from “ugly” to “month and name”, and used Dean’s Permalink Migration Plugin to take care of all existing links.

    Everything went well except for my blog; clicking on the link to my blog leads to a 404 error. But when I revert to the “ugly” permalink setting, all my links work fine. Renaming pages also gives the same result.

    Need help, thanks!

    Could you specify a link to your site and/or a page where the problem is occurring?

    From the plugin website comments:
    “There is a very slight typo in your dean_pm_post_rewrite_rules($rules) function.

    $wp_rewrite->generate_rewrite_rule($oldstruct, false, false, false, true)

    should be plural…

    $wp_rewrite->generate_rewrite_rules($oldstruct, false, false, false, true)

    Changing that fixes many of the 404 errors that people have been experiencing.”

    @boyevul: How do I change the rewrite function? ??

    Hi I had the same issue, when you change the permalink it will generate a code you have to place it in the .htaccess, just copy the existing code and and save it some where judt in case anything goes wrong you can replace with the original, the /htaccess file will be in the ftp if you are a mac user go to transmit and from the tool bar go to view and in the view tick invisible files then you can see .htaccess you don’t need any plugin let me know how did you go

    Cheers,
    Ramith
