permalinks work for all pages except home page
-
I have found numerous posts describing similar scenarios but no solutions. WP is installed in a subdirectory and the domain is redirected to this directory.
The site is alfaclub.ca, the directory containing WP is /v2.
The site works just fine when default permalinks are enabled. Changing to %postname% generates correct permalink names and it creates an .htaccess file with what look like correct contents. All pages work fine except the home page – firefox reports “server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete”.
Returning to default permalinks restores functionality completely.
In .htaccess “RewriteBase /v2/” and “RewriteRule . /v2/index.php [L]” look good to me.
Settings – General – WordPress Address is https://alfaclub.ca/v2
Settings – General – Site Address is https://alfaclub.ca/v2
Changing either or both by removing the /v2 breaks everything.I’m getting frustrated!
