• Hello when I change my websites permalink structure to postname from plain none of the pages, except the home page, work. They all display a 404 Apache error. When I switch the permalinks back to plain it works perfectly. I am using the Astra theme. I am also hosting this side on a vultr VPS running debian 10 on which I installed wordpress myself. It is also the latest version and everything else works like a charm.

If “Plain” works, then try reading Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure again.

No success mate. Got the rewrite mod turned on in apache. Have got .htaccess working and wordpress is able to rewrite it. I got follow symlinks and allow override all in the directory tags of apache yet the post-name one symlinks don’t seem to work

Then this could be attributed to anything from a web server configuration to a bad WordPress install.
