Permalinks to Login Page Redirect

  • New site installed in subdirectory for staging… all other dashboard links function as expected, but any click on Permalinks redirects to the login page.
    No plug ins, basically totally raw blog.
    Disabled/tested plugins (specifically security) on primary domain WP site, which fixed image load errors, so I thought it was related, but no joy.
    Never saw this before, have done this many many times, any help appreciated.

    Update: I removed that site, something is obviously wrong on the server side, I may have to contact the host. When I changed the WP site URLs, added https and www, it would then simply redirect to ‘not found’. I added a couple pages and when I navigate to them, the URL is full site/directory/index.php/pagename… so permalinks are totally hosed in any subdirectory however work perfectly on the primary domain.
    So annoyed.
