• hi. i m the owner of blog https://www.typicali.com.

i just import all my entries from my old blog (typicali.wordpress.com) to my new own domain blog (www.typicali.com)

i encounter a problem here when i were trying to update my permalink structure at my new blog.

i chose to set my permalink based on “day and name”, so it would be like this –> https://typicali.com/2009/03/21/sample-post/

but i received the Error 404 – Not Found.

however, if i change back the setting to default (https://typicali.com/?p=123), there is no problem. and my blog can be viewed smoothly.

the problem with this default setting is that, the link from old blog are not working as the permalink setting of old blog is “day and name”.

    please. please, help me.

    many thanks!

  • Have you tried resetting the permalinks back to “day and name” after you set them to default?

Your problem is with the .htaccess file. Sometimes setting the permalinks back to default, and then setting again to how you want them resolves the .htaccess problem.
