• Hi,

I have the following problem with my permalinks :
    – my homepage url is the one of the website, that is the domain name with nothing after it
    – but the url of any descendant page/post on the site contains the post_name of the homepage (let’s say “homepage”)

What i’d like is that every page/post on the website shouldn’t have that post_name (“/homepage”) in its url. I tried different methods, but i can’t find one that works.
N.B. : If unavoidable, i don’t care if this “/homepage” is visible in the dashboard, as long as the url https://domain_name/whatever points ot the page previously known as https://domain_name/homepage/whatever.

    Thanks

  • Why not just set a custom permalink within the settings to use “homepage” to prepend any url.

@jamesduffell I think he wants to remove the “homepage” page part from the URL and not prepend it.

@marvinlerouge In any case you should check the permalinks settings as well as the general settings. There might be something wrong there.

@wpgurus : You’re right, i want to remove the “homepage” part from the url.
I just checked the settings, it’s strictly standard :
    – wordpress url == website url = domaine name
    – permalinks : /%postname%/

I don’t think there is really something wrong : i just think that the fact that all pages and posts in my site are declared as descendants of homepage make them have all of their ancestors in their url, and unfortunately, that includes the name of the homepage.

@ MarvinLeRouge can you take a print screen of your settings page please.
