• Well you know when you create a page and you are using permalinks you have to update your htaccess file with the latest code from the permalinks page everytime. So I am just wondering if you are planning to make over 100 or so pages is it a wise idea to use permalinks at all? Like wouldn’t that really clutter your htaccess file and possibly increase your site load times.

Or is there a plugin that or any hacks that makes using permalinks with pages something similar to the way posts are permalinked? Or do I just have to wait for WP 1.6? Or should I just make the pages and update the htaccess file with all the information (if it doesn’t greatly increase load times)?

  • Load time will be small enough not to worry about.
Have you set your .htaccess to 666 ? That way, WP will do the code updating for you. That said, you may wish to leave it at 644 normally.
