I use the day and name option for my permalinks setting (https://gonzoecon.com/2016/12/06/sample-post/). Sometime in the last few days the post title has stopped being included in the url. Instead there is a five-digit number. I’m running v.3.6 of the theme and just updated to WP 4.7. (The problem started with 4.6.1.)

I realize this may not be a WP-related problem. I have posted the same question on my theme’s support page. Thanks for any help.

    Best,

Go visit and resave those settings. See if that fixes it. Sometimes, that works if it is a simple db issue.

I swear I tried that a couple of times before. But I just changed it to year/month/ format and did a test post. That seemed to do the trick. I have no idea what’s going on, but my guess is that the database heard you coming and decided to shape up.

    Many thanks,
    Tony
