• Every few hours, all my pages get the 404 error. I go in and reset them, and they are good for about 2 hours, and they break again. Everything goes back up after I reset and save. My homepage is always good.

I have disabled all plugins and updated everything. Help?

  • …looks like you may not have read my post.

I’m hoping for a developer to answer the question, as I’m pretty sure there’s a way to tell by looking at the plugin code. Like… well, everyone, I don’t want to kill major functionality of the website while waiting and hoping it breaks quickly.

I did read your post, and I gave you the answer.

Code can look great, yet still conflict with something. The only way is to find the cause.

I’ve been doing this for 10 years, since even before plugins. If there were a better way, I’d let you know.

Just do it during an off-peak hour.

I guess I expected WordPress to be better than just “turn it off and turn it back on again and see what happens”.

I ASSumed that looking at the plugin code would yield useful results.

I’m going to assume that you capitalized the first three letters in “assume” simply by accident rather than crudely lashing out at the volunteers providing free support for the free blogging platform developed also by volunteers.

I meant that *I* was that ASS because I was ASSuming something incorrectly… Totally not directed towards you – I appreciate your help ??

Ah, sorry, text can sometimes lack very critical tone context. ??
