Permalinks in media manager are locked and different then file url

  • Hello,

    When uploading media to the theme i noticed on the image screen that the file url and the permalinks are different. Also the permalink button to edit the permalink is missing. Here are a couple screenshot of what i mean, let me also say that the edit permalink button works on albums and posts but is missing on the media pages.     In the permalinks settings in WordPress I have change the permalink setting to Post name. The only plugin i have installed is the yoast seo plugin and i know that is not the problem because it dosent cause this problem on any of my other themes.

    Also i have not done any customization to the theme except upload images and change the favicon and logo. Also i am adding this website on a sub directory at the moment so I can run my splash page. website in question is https://www.23rdstudiosweddings.com/wordpress

  • I’m not sure what the problem is. WordPress itself uses the default permalink structure internally. It does not use your custom permalinks. They are for the front end of your site only.

    I have had this problem show up in two current themes that i am working on but also two other themes that we have and are working on don’t have this problem.

    I thought it might have something to do with the .htaccess file but then i look at the file across different themes and they are all written the same. I thought it might be database related but all the themes are running off the same database setups so that doesn’t come into play.

    What happens if you use the default 2012 theme?
