Permalinks, htaccess, widgets Internet Explorer & Chrome

I have a weird problem I need some help with…
I usually use Google Chrome, and my Blog works fine. Occasionally I have a problem with Internet explorer showing a 505 Error. I have found that ‘refreshing’ the permalinks usually helps. If that doesn’t work, deleting the htaccess file – and then rebuilding the permalinks usually does the trick.
However this time around, I have ended up with the front page of the site showing up in Internet Explorer how I intended, and the other pages showing the ‘Default’ version i.e. without my widgets installed.
Needless to say – the site looks how I expected with Chrome.
