Permalinks

  • Hello!
    I have installed WordPress 3.5.2 using godaddy one click applications, I am using windows hosting. I updated permalinks to “post name” then made a page name “sample page” publish this one and the url is aaatechnologyservices.com/sample-page/ but its not working, i get page not found. The same problem occur with making posts also.
    I need your help guys, please help me I searched about this problem likely 1000 times because i am running 5 wp sites and i am not able to make friendly urls, so please help me! Please suggest me what i need to do? Can i sort out this problem with windows hosting or not? But i want to tell you that I want use windows hosting, if permalinks would work fine on widows hosting.

  • Since you are using Windows Hosting you need to confirm that your host has enabled mod_rewrite in the apache configuration. From my experience it doesn’t work out of the box. Either way, I would highly recommend Linux OS for hosting WordPress.

    I will never prefer godaddy to anyone, godaddy is making us fool. They know this problem still they are providing one click wp install on windows hosting.

    Can godaddy linux hosting solve this problem?

    I recommend linux hosting for WordPress websites. The provider you choose is up to you.

    Thanks Patrik, you did the best for me, i am going to upgrade my windows hosting to linux hosting, if it will work fine then good otherwise will go for another host as recommend by wordpress.
