Permalinks for variable products

Our site is in the SEO process and we would like to be able to set custom permalinks for individual product variations. Is this possible? We prefer to not do this through attributes but rather permalinks. For example, if we have a product called WIDGET and the custom attributes are brand and color, can we permalink to the Red Microsoft Widget without appending junk like ?color=red&brand=microsoft to the URL?
