Permalinks for custom post type with custom taxonomy

    I have a custom post type attached to a custom hierarchical taxonomy and would ideally like my URL structure to be

    archive:
    https://domain.com/parent-taxonomy/taxonomy/

    single post:
    https://domain.com/parent-taxonomy/taxonomy/postname

    I’ve tested many different rewrite settings in my register post type and register taxonomy functions but none seem to do it 100%. The closest I’ve come is have the archives properly rewrite, but then it threw 404’s on the single posts.

    I’ve looked into to some other solutions like adding your own rewrite tag, but that caused even more problems.
